19th Private Banker International Wealth Management Summit
5 - 6 October 2009, Singapore
Event Summary
The private banking sector still has great potential to deliver results whether in Asia Pacific,
Middle East or Europe. However, the ripple effect of the credit crisis has shaken several large
private banks to the core. Given these challenging circumstances, wealth managers need to revisit
their business model, take advantage of emerging opportunities as well as equip themselves with the
tools and knowledge for a sustainable bottom line.
Now in its 19th year, the Private Banker International Wealth Management Summit will continue to
give wealth managers an independent platform to discuss key industry issues and challenges facing
the industry. High-level strategic insights will be coupled with state-of-the-art practical
advice and guidance for both existing and new entrants into the wealth business.
With investment banking virtually moribund, private banking is regarded, rightly, the new superstar
generator of revenues and fees. At increasing numbers of large banking groups, private
banking is being drawn close to the parent’s bosom.
Our industry polls indicate that the industry believes now is the time to ramp up on innovation, invest
in infrastructure and revisit business models to increase client confidence in the current
climate. Participate in the discussion around “pain points” in the wealth management industry:
- Not business as usual: Overcoming the industry's toughest year
- It's all about the customer: Why client retention strategies are now key
- The rich revolt: Who will be managing the HNW assets?
- A drastically different investment landscape: Products and services to meet the new risk-averse environment
- Offshore banking: Losing their privacy edge?
- What's next for wealth managers?
